On June 2nd, 2019, Mr. Oscar Ronaldo Castro took oath as Minister of Labor and Social Welfare of El Salvador, after being appointed by President Nayib Bukele.
Mr. Castro has worked in all levels of public service –from municipal to federal- for more than 20 years, and has a wide experience as labor union leader of public officers, especially through the Salvadorian Association of Municipal Workers (ASTRAM).
The Minister has declared that during his management, one of the main objectives of the Ministry of Labor will be the institutionalization of social dialogue to promote tripartism, and the labor inclusion of people with disabilities.
