Knowledge Management Systems – E-Government

With the goal of understanding the experience that made the Colombian government first in the region in terms of Electronic Participation and Electronic Government, three delegates from the Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Security of Argentina traveled to Bogota in order to meet with managers of the Online Government Strategy of Colombia.
 
During the visit, the Argentine delegates could see that the institutionalization of strategic planning is the basis for valid online information systems and therefore plays a crucial role as a means of support for Online Government. This understanding demonstrated the necessity, among other things, of working internally to overcome weaknesses in the process of developing and formulating the Argentine strategic plan and its reworking through the creation of the of the Online Labor Committee. In the words of the delegates, “This committee and other improvements are the base upon which the foundations for the effective composition of the Ministry Online will be built.”
