Patricia Hajdu, Minister of Jobs and Families

On May 13, 2025, the Honorable Patty Hajdu assumed office as Canada’s Minister of Jobs and Families and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Northern Ontario. Minister Hajdu has extensive experience in social policy, public health, Indigenous services, labor development, and welfare programs, having previously served as Minister of Health, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour, Minister of Indigenous Services, and Minister of Status of Women. Her professional background includes serving as Executive Director of the Shelter House in Thunder Bay and working in public health, harm reduction, and addiction policy. Ms. Hajdu holds a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Lakehead University and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Victoria in Canada.
