St. Lucia - Ministry of Infrastructure, Ports, Energy and Labour
Mr. Stephenson King finished his secondary level studies at the Seventh Day Adventist Academy. Following the end of his secondary education he worked at the former St. Lucia Co-operative Bank Ltd and two years after, he accepted an offer from the law firm of Floissac and Giraudy, where he served for 7 years. During this time he was the Chair of the Youth Arm of the United Worker’s Party, City Councilor of the Castries City Council and Board Member of the St. Lucia Housing Authority.
In 1987 Mr. King got elected for his first political position, as Cabinet Minister for Community and Development, Social Affairs, Youth, Sports and local Government. In 1992 he became Minister for Health, Local Government, Information and Broadcasting, in 2006 Minister of Health and Labour Relations and in 2007 Minister of Finance and subsequently Prime Minister until 2011. Mr. Stephenson King was elected Minister of Infrastructure, Ports, Energy and Labour on June 2016.
