Description:

The Pre-Release Unit of Her Majesty’s Prisons, established a Job Readiness Program in 2005, as part of its efforts to rehabilitate and facilitate inmates for reintegration into society upon release. The Program was designed to equip inmates with the necessary skills and knowledge for obtaining employment upon release.

Achievements
It was brought to the attention of the facilitators that the government should promote the program by informing persons from private organizations of the program and its objective.
Lessons learned
The government should set the pace by employing ex-offenders, (especially those who would have undergone the program) who are skilled and qualified.
