The Bilateral Cooperation Activity between the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (MTSS) of Costa Rica and the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (MTPS) of Chile on psychosocial risk at work was selected within the framework of the 17th Call for Proposals of the Inter-American Network for Labor Administration (RIAL) of the OAS in April 2024, to be held virtually.
 
OBJECTIVES AND PRODUCT
 
General Objective: Establish the criteria and minimum components of a method to identify and evaluate psychosocial risk factors at work, applicable to companies and institutions in Costa Rica.
 
Specific Objectives:
Through technical exchange among specialists from the Superintendence of Social Security of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security of Chile, the aim is to learn about:

  • The process of construction and implementation of the Chilean Method for identifying psychosocial risk factors at work.
  • The components, stages and characteristics of the Chilean Method for identifying psychosocial risk factors at work.

  • The quantitative and qualitative techniques that define the Chilean Method for the identification and evaluation of psychosocial risk factors at work.

  • Methodological strategy for assessing the psychosocial risk of companies and institutions (parameters and standards).

  • Stages and procedures for applying the method.

  • Establishment of preventive measures and remedial plans in the presence of occupational risk factors of a psychosocial nature in companies and institutions.

 

Product: At the end of the cooperation, the MTSS of Costa Rica will have a Methodological Manual for the identification and evaluation of psychosocial risk factors at work to be applied in Costa Rica.
