Zulphy Santamaría

Ms. Zulphy Santamaria was appointed Minister of Labor of Panama on November, 2018. 


Ms. Santamaria holds a Degree in Law and Political Science by the University of Panama with the Sigma Lambda distinction, and a Masters Deegree in Business Administration from INCAE Business School. She holds another Master's Degree in Electoral Studies from the Specialized University of the Americas.


She was appointed Vice Minister of Labor of Panama on July 1, 2014. Previously, she served as the Managing Partner of the regional firm Corporate Legal Consulting 2004 - 2014. She worked in Legal Counseling at the National Directorate of Migration and Naturalization from 2013 to 2014. 


Later, at late 2018, she was appointed Minister of Labor. 


In her political career, she has held the position of President-in-Charge of the Popular Party, as well as other positions such as National Vice-President, National Under-Secretary-General, National Secretary of Communication and National Under-Secretary of Youth.
