Doris Zapata Acevedo

Mrs. Doris Zapata Acevedo took office as Minister of Labor and Workforce Development of Panama on July 1st, with the innaguration of President Laurentino Cortizo. She holds a law degree from the University of Panama, as well as two completed courses on Negotiation and Government Management from the University of Santiago de Chile. 

 

Minister Zapata Acevedo has experience in both the public and private sectors, having served as Vice MInister of Social Development and Housing from 2004 - 2009, and as Legal Advisor in the National Directorate of Migration, Panama City Hall, and the National Assembly. For ten years, she has been partner and counselor of the S&B law firm, specialized in government management. 

 

Mrs. Zapata has stated that during her administration, she will seek to promote policies to strenghten women and youth entrepreneurship, always within tripartism.
