Description:

The General Director for Federal Work Inspection from Mexico’s Secretariat for Labor and Social Prevision (STPS) led a Mexican delegation to travel to Chile to learn about their experience installing and developing their Technical School for the Formation and Direction of Labor in Chile. In this visit, they analyzed the problems of the training system and personal development of the Labor Fiscal System, and they learned the implications of applying a quality management system in the development and training procedures for public officials.

As a result from this cooperation, the delegation identified some experiences and successful practices of the Technical School that could be replicated in Mexico, taking into account that they already have the commitment of creating a technical school inside of the STPS. Among the lessons learned, Mexico highlighted the importance of having a Technical Council or Advising Council represented by multiple unities of the STPS with the purpose of establishing themes as well as training priorities for the inspectors.
