Two officials from the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) of the United States Department of Labor visited the Ministry of Labor and Social Development of the Bahamas to share information in the area of construction safety. Participants discussed focused inspections, physical hazards, electrical hazards, protective equipment, hand and power tools, excavations, control of hazardous energy, scaffolding, procurement, and site preparation. The visit also included a field trip to a construction site where safety practices were illustrated.
 
Participants noted that they were extremely pleased with the professionalism of the presenters and the quality of the information gathered. The parties agreed to work together in the future, and the end of the visit included planning for a training visit by a team from the Bahamas to the United States.
