RIAL selects five proposals for bilateral cooperation

As a result of the Tenth Call for Proposals of the RIAL, a total of 41 were presented, and 5 bilateral cooperation proposals were selected to be held between June and December 2017. 

Intersectoral Workshop on Youth Employment: Coordination between Education and Labor

This workshop, which was co-organized by the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Government of Brazil, through its Ministries of Education and Labor, analyzed initiatives coordinated by both sectors to improve youth employment. 

More information on Jamaica-U.S cooperation

During the last week of September, two bilateral cooperation activities of the RIAL took place. A delegation from Grenada traveled to Jamaica to learn from their experience with the Labor Market Information System, and a delegation from Jamaica travelled to Washington D.C from October 17th to the 21st to participate in the last cooperation activity of this year. The exchange was with the U.S Department of Labor regarding disability legislation and enforcement.

Celebrating 10 years of the RIAL!

The RIAL is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a publication that highlights its greatest achievements, among them, 90 bilateral cooperation activities, 20 hemispheric workshops and more than 1,000 public servants trained.

IACML authorities agree on work plan for the next two years!

Authorities of the XIX IACML, approved the calendar of activities for 2016-2107. Participants discussed the link between education-labor as it relates to youth employment, labor migration, among others.

Successful Inter-American Conference of Ministers of Labor

The XIX Inter-American Conference of Ministers of Labor (IACML) gathered 22 countries of the region. As a result of the conference, the Declaration and Plan of Action of Cancun were approved and new IACML authorities were elected. 

The Americas on a path to find regional agreement on labor

From September 29th to October 1st, 2015 representatives from the region's Ministries of Labor, workers and employers will define the topics and actions regarding labor and employment policies in the region.
