General Objective: To identify key lessons learned and policy recommendations to promote labor inclusion of the most vulnerable populations, who have traditionally been marginalized or discriminated against in the labor market.


Specific Objectives:

  1. To analyze the various institutional arrangements that Ministries of Labor are implementing to improve labor inclusion and combat discrimination against the most vulnerable populations in the labor market.
  2. To identify and discuss best practices in promoting and increasing labor inclusion of the most vulnerable populations, placing emphasis on initiatives that expand social protection among them.

This Workshop was organized under the auspices of the Department of Labor of The Bahamas and in compliance with the IACML Calendar of Activities for 2012-2013. On this occasion, the Workshop was followed by the Second Meeting of the Working Groups and the First Preparatory Meeting of the XVIII IACML

The workshop was attended by 22 member states of the Organization of American States (OAS), as well as officials of the Inter-American Comission on Human Rights (IACHR), of the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).
