Labor Conciliation

A delegation from Mexico’s Secretariat for Labor and Social Prevision visited Argentina to learn more about their Obligatory Labor Conciliation Service with the goal of identifying actions that Mexico can take to speed up the process of labor justice and implement their own service of obligatory conciliation in labor matters. Through different presentations, Argentina presented their model of obligatory conciliation, which is a step that must be taken before initiating the arbitrage step.
 
After the visit concluded, the Mexican delegation expressed interest in creating a different entity other than the Judicial Organ inside of Mexico’s Secretary that could facilitate the process for labor conciliation just like Argentina has it. In concrete terms, Mexico is evaluating the possibility of having a minimum quantity of 100 conciliators for every 5 million habitants to be able to carry up to 5 daily hearings. This entity would be obligatory and arbitrage would not be a possibility until going through this process. A technological tool to follow up on any step of the arbitrage was also recommended.
