Description:

Through two virtual sessions, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (STSS) of Honduras received technical advice from the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE) of Peru on Employment Services.

This cooperation was part of the efforts of Honduras to reform and decentralize its National Employment Service (SENAEH) through the installation of Comprehensive Care Centers for Job Seekers, since the Peruvian model of Single Windows for Employment Promotion (VUPE) it is a practice widely recognized for its innovation and effectiveness.

It should be noted that when it was selected in the framework of the 12th. RIAL/OAS Call for Bilateral Cooperation, it was contemplated that it would be an on-site visit of Honduran officials to Peru. However, considering the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, both governments agreed to hold it virtually. This added a computer component to the objectives of the cooperation, since the adjustments made by the MTPE to the online version of its employment service during the pandemic were also discussed.

During the sessions, the MTPE of Peru made comments and recommendations on the document "Proposal for Adjustment of the Organizational Structure of SENAEH", previously sent by Honduras. He also referred to the document “Proposal for the New SENAEH Services Model”. The sessions had a wide space for questions and answers between both delegations,
